Create a Small Desktop Widget That Displays Live Information From Various Sources

Sometimes, you just need an easy way to view your data when you are away from your computer. Of course, your phone is probably always with you, but what’s so interesting about that? DIYer Stefan has created a small desktop widget that will display all kinds of information.

By default, the desktop widget displays the current time, date, time in six other locations, and exchange rates for three different currencies. You can play with the code to display any information you want. Otherwise, you only need a few schematics to build this, a cheap screen and a 3D printed enclosure ( which can be printed somewhere for cheap ). The end result is a cool little clock that sits on your desk giving you all the information you need at a glance. Go to the Hack a Day website for a manual and parts list.
