Best Air Press Method Since 2015 World Cup.

It’s no secret that we at Lifehacker love the Aeropress coffee maker and one of the reasons is how many variables you can tweak to make a good cup of coffee . If you are looking for some new methods, the winner of the Air Press World Championship (yes, that is the thing) shares his own.

Three of the best baristas shared their methods, but here’s what Lukas Zahradnik, who took first place, did:

  • Reverse brewing method
  • 20 grams of ground coffee at 7.3 settings on the Mahlkonig EK34 grinder (okay, you can’t recreate this part yourself)
  • Water pressure up to 79 degrees Celsius
  • Add 60 g of water.
  • Turbulent wiggle for 15 seconds
  • 30 seconds bloom
  • Add the rest of the water
  • Press and hold for 45 seconds

Of course, there are many other methods, and on the World Aeropress Championship website, they have tied the top three for the last few years. If you’re bored with Aeropress methods, this is a great set of methods to get things mixed up.
