Lifehacker Hires Deputy Editor

Lifehacker is looking for a deputy commander! You will need experience, a nose for news and, above all, love for Lifehacker and helping people in their best life. Look like you? Here are the details.

We are looking for a full-time deputy editor at Gawker Media’s shiny new headquarters in New York. You will be in New York, but you will be helping manage a team of writers around the world who, to be honest (and I’m biased), I think are the best on the Internet. Are you a bad enough dude (or dude!) To save Ronnie and join our team? Here are the basics:

The ideal candidate should know how to best keep food fresh, travel light, and save money on basic necessities; they should always know what is best to buy, from phones to televisions and water bottles. They will be just as happy to edit stories on these topics as they would write their own.

The Lifehacker Associate Editor will also strive to broaden the site’s editorial voice, tackle new topics and attract new people who have traditionally been underserved by tech and lifestyle media. They will be completely satisfied with the editorial process – from presentation to publication, promotion and discussion. Their talents will be editorial and managerial, and should be comfortable navigating the Lifehacker at all times.

We are looking for someone with 3-5 years of writing and editing experience for a fast-paced lifestyle, news agency, career or consulting site, or consumer-oriented financial blog with a diverse audience. Someone is excited about making awesome podcasts and videos and have great ideas on where we can get Lifehacker while staying true to our roots.

So. Look like you? Head here to apply and may the odds be in your favor.

Oh, and fair warning: we are receiving a lot of submissions, so we may not be able to reply to everyone (sorry!), But we will read all messages received.
