Hold Option + Command While Selecting Text on Mac for Precise Selection

Sometimes, for whatever reason, you may want to highlight a strange block of text that is not possible with normal clicking and dragging. At times like these, Redditor whosingsthings notes that Option + Command gives you a more accurate selection tool.

When you press Option + Command, your icon turns into a cross. Now you can select words and letters in a rectangle regardless of the position of the line or word. This seems to only work in plain text tools, and the exact use case for this might be a little sparse, but it’s a useful tip nonetheless.
