NetSpot, a Free Wi-Fi Mapping and Troubleshooting App, Is Included With Windows

Windows: NetSpot is a wonderful OS X utility for displaying Wi-Fi networks , finding bad reception areas and troubleshooting how to fix them, and is now available for Windows. Best of all, it’s still completely free.

Like the Mac version, NetSpot for Windows allows you to see all SSIDs nearby, their working channels, which ones are interfering with each other, and more. You can list all networks in your area and use the tool’s display function to indicate where the access points are located in relation to your current position. The built-in channel and power analyzer can run in the background so you can schedule reception as you move around your home. NetSpot also makes a real-time heatmap of your signal strength so you know where to place your APs or routers for best reception, where you want to work (or where you should place your desk for better reception).

The Windows version is missing some features, such as the ability to create multiple shots and zones for each survey project, but they are coming soon. NetSpot supports Windows 7, 8, and 10 as well as 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac. Click on the link below to check it out.
