Prepare to Promote With This 3-Step Plan
Climbing the corporate ladder in any job is usually not easy, but some jobs, especially hourly jobs, are more difficult than others. However, this does not mean that it is impossible. You just need to come up with a plan that boils down to three important steps.
In the video above, Mike from Mike & Lauren’s Personal Finance Channel explains the three main stages of promotion. He discusses this in terms of moving from hourly pay to paycheck, but it’s useful advice for anyone looking to find a better role in their current job.
Step 1. Prove that you are responsible . The basics. Come to work early, deliver on time. Basically, you want to be your boss’s most trusted employee.
Phase 2 : Become a silent influencer . As Mike put it, “Silent influencers are those who are quick to fulfill their responsibilities and are slow to take out loans. They rise, attracting everyone else to them. “
Phase 3: Become invaluable. This is the moment when you go beyond what your current position or salary level has to offer. You are ready to ask for a promotion.
