Instagram Starts Rolling Out Two-Factor Authentication

Instagram is reportedly starting to roll out two-factor authentication today, so accounts will be safer and less susceptible to hacker attacks.

According to TechCrunch’s Josh Constantin, an Instagram analyst says you will soon be able to verify your account with a phone number and use that to authenticate your identity every time you log in. An Instagram spokesperson also confirmed the news with The Verge. … After you have verified your phone number, when you open the Instagram app and try to log in with your account name and password, you will also be sent a text message with the authentication code required to log into your account. Two-factor authentication is one of the best ways to protect your accounts , so it’s time for Instagram to finally add this feature. There is no official word yet on when you will receive the update, but the feature should be available to everyone soon.
