Steamed Eggs in a Rice Cooker Are the Easiest Eggs to Peel

Steaming can be the best way to make perfect soft-boiled eggs that are very easy to peel . Do this in a rice cooker for consistent results every time.

I tried it the other day, and the shells practically came off the eggs. Instead of many small pieces of eggshells, the shells flaked off into one or two large pieces.

Pour one or two cups of water into the rice cooker, add eggs to the steamer insert (if you have one) and use the steam function in the rice cooker. The timing will depend on your rice cooker. The online instructions suggest7 to 25 minutes , depending on how you like eggs. I was doing my 15 minutes and they came out a little overcooked, so I’m experimenting with 12 minutes.

Once you find the perfect time for yourself, this is probably your best method for making eggs. They will come out the same, eggs are easiest to clean each time.

Oh, rice cookers, how we love you .
