You Can Now Stream Live Video From Your IPhone to Facebook
When it comes to live streaming, Periscope was the most recent option, but Facebook is heavily involved today. IPhone users can now play live video directly from their phones for all their friends to see.
To start streaming, tap the Update Status button in the Facebook app, then tap the Live Video icon. After a few requests to make sure you really want to send this live video, your broadcast will begin. Friends can tune in and comment in real time. When you finish broadcasting, the video is saved to your timeline just like any other video.
From a viewer’s perspective, you’ll see a friend’s live stream pop up in your regular news feed, and after watching, you can click the subscribe button if you’d like to be notified of any future broadcasts. Live streaming is only available on iPhone.
