Bombfell Gives Men a Personal Stylist to Help Them Find New Clothes
Shopping for clothes online is bullshit when you can’t be sure of your size, but styling clothes you can’t try on is even worse. Bombfell solves both of these problems with a personal stylist and mail-order clothing.
Like most online clothing stores, Bombfell will ask a few initial questions about your size, body type and shape to determine the best fit for your wardrobe. However, unlike most online stores, in Bombfell, the real person makes the final choice about which products to offer you.
Once Bombfell has selected a few items of clothing, you will have the opportunity to preview them. Then, if you like them, you will receive a box in the mail with everything your stylist has chosen. Then you have ten days to try out the items to see if you like them. If you don’t, just pack them back in the box and send them back. You don’t pay a cent for what you don’t keep.
Bombfell seems to be targeting mostly more expensive clothing. Even when choosing the cheapest clothes, I was advised a $ 90 sweatshirt, a $ 100 dress shirt, and a $ 150 blazer, which isn’t necessarily bad for the clothes themselves, but they’re not exactly friendly to those who pinch their wallet.
However, human involvement in the selection process can help you better understand what to wear than an algorithm. And since you don’t have to pay if you don’t like (or cannot afford) any clothes that are sent to you, the only thing you can lose is a little of your time. There is still an obvious downside that Bombfell only caters to men, but hopefully, like Cladwell before this , Bombfell will release a version for women soon.
