Satorio Is a Free Online Meditation Timer That Gives Food for Every Minute of Meditation

Meditation can be a very rewarding practice, even if you only do it for two minutes a day. You can now help end world hunger through meditation through the Satorio website.

The web app is a simple online timer. You can set the meditation time from 2 to 100 minutes. When you press the start button, the bell rings, and when the time runs out, it rings again, returning you to no meditation mode.

The creators of Satorio donate 10 grains of rice to the hungry person through Oxfam for every minute of timed meditation. 10 grams of rice is not much, but it adds up. 1920 minutes (32 hours) of meditation between everyone using the site can feed a person throughout the day.

The site’s creators say profiting from their guided meditations and other products such as a mindfulness journal helps pay for rice donations.

You can use the timer without creating an account and it’s a simple tool that can come in handy anyway, so why not use it for a good reason too.
