Calculate Your “positive Emotion Score” to Cheer You Up

How many positive emotions have you experienced in the last 24 hours? How much is negative? The ratio of positive to negative emotions can tell you how resilient you are to life’s stress.

Jane McGonigal, the developer of SuperBetter, a game designed to help you achieve your goals , offers several “bonuses” that you can use to increase your positive emotion (PE) ratio. For instance:

Press the reset button: are you having a bad morning? Close your eyes for one minute. When you open them, imagine your day is starting over.

Look Ahead: For a quick burst of optimism, think about what you are looking forward to in the next 24 hours and month.

If you have a low positivity score, try exercise, such as more sun.

These little exercises can be the difference between a great day and a bad day.
