Doze Brings Marshmallow Battery Saver to Older Android Devices

Android 4.1+: Doze is one of the best new Android Marshmallow features that prevents apps from using the network when your phone is idle. But if you still don’t have Marhsmallow on your phone, this app will bring this feature to older phones.

Once installed and activated, Doze creates a VPN, which the developer says is more of an obstacle to blocking traffic than a real VPN. The nap starts when you turn off the screen, but you can whitelist certain apps to use the data. Considering data connections drain your battery quickly, this is a good way to save power.

You can also set Doze to log out automatically when you’re connected to Wi-Fi or a charger. This is a simple app that adds one of the coolest Marshmallow features to older Android devices.
