Best and Worst Black Friday Shopping Time According to Google

Black Friday isn’t what it used to be , but if you’re going to shop that day anyway, you can reduce the stress of shopping in crowded stores by strategically timing your visit.

Google used anonymous data from people who had location history enabled on their phones to determine when stores had the most traffic. Contrary to popular belief, most Black Friday shoppers don’t start shopping as soon as the doors open. Traffic is busiest between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm, so it’s best to shop in the morning or evening to avoid the crowds.

Thanksgiving shopping is crazy, especially at 6pm and beyond.

Google data also shows that Black Friday isn’t even the biggest shopping day for malls, department stores and discount stores during the holiday season. However, this is the most visited day for electronics stores and mobile phone stores, so you should keep that in mind as well.
