Learn How to Lead People With Different Types of People Using the DiSC System

A strong leader knows that different team members often require different communication tactics, and the DiSC Behavior Assessment System can help you speak and communicate with any language.

DiSC Behavior Assessment is based on theories of psychologist William Moulton Marston and is based on four basic behavioral traits that everyone has at one level or another in the workplace: dominance, influence, compliance, and resilience. The illustration below from the Eastern Nazarene College Master of Business Administration program explains how to determine what behaviors your team members have, how they prefer to work and communicate, and most importantly, how to provide feedback to each type of person. For example, if you’re dealing with someone who has a lot of dominance (competitive, determined, and independent), direct compliments are a great way to compliment them, and criticism should be very specific.
