Create Pull-Out Trays to Increase Storage Space for Drawers in the Store

Organizing tools and materials for a workshop is a constant struggle. If you have drawers deep enough, you can add pull-out storage trays to maximize their storage capacity.

First, measure your boxes and determine if they are deep enough to hold the tray as well as your belongings. It can be helpful to use a schematic program such as Sketchup to design trays and draw a cut list.

Assemble the drawer trays using 1/2 ” plywood that can be cut with a table saw or circular saw. You will need wood glue and nails to assemble the trays and attach the runners to the drawer. If you have a metal box, you can still attach wood with glue and self-tapping screws. Use wood lubricant to make the trays slide easier.
