Renew Your Passport Now to Speed up the Process
Applying for a new passport can take a couple of months. If you have a planned trip, you can shorten it, and if you want it earlier, it will cost you. This is why the US State Department of Passport Services is encouraging people to apply before the end of the year. This will provide faster processing.
Before planning your trip abroad, you obviously want to make sure that your passport is valid . To avoid travel disruptions, it is also best to make sure it is valid for at least six months prior to travel . If you have something planned for the next year and need to renew your passport, now is the time to do so, as this is the least busy time of the year for the State Department of Passports. September to December is the low season and the busiest months are from January to August.
