Lifehacker Comes Into Play With Hardware

Not long ago, Lifehacker shied away from hardware reviews. We could talk about some of the things we liked here or there, but overall we avoided a lot of gadget reviews for fear that this was not our wheelhouse. We’re done with that. From now on, we are launching several new series to “make your life better” in our style for more gadgets, peripherals, audio equipment, PC components and more. At this point, we present three important things:

  • Sunday Showdown : In the new weekly Sunday Showdown series, two (or more) specific products, applications or services will be compared against each other in a real-life comparison based on our own testing and research. Is Kodi or Plex the best home theater PC app? Is an inexpensive shop surplus backpack really better than an expensive everyday backpack? Is the Performance MX a better all-round mouse than the gaming-centric Proteus Core? We will find out! Since he will operate on Sundays, he will replace Hive Five. Hive Five has been an amazing weekly event for at least seven years. We will update our old ones from time to time, and we will do new ones periodically on an irregular basis, but this will no longer be a weekly affair and we would rather use this space to practice the subjects we write about.
  • Bringing Back What We Love : We’ve always had a “What We Like” column, but it was rare and rarely so detailed. But, well … we like a lot of things. Just because something isn’t the most popular or best in class doesn’t mean it isn’t. We want to spend more time highlighting the hardware and gadgets that we really like, and we think so will you – whether it’s headphones, pillows, PC components, or waterproof notebooks (well, we’ve already done that). Think of it not as a series of official reviews, but as the current version of How We Work.
  • Lifehacker Reviews Anything : Sure, we could check out what we like all day long, but at the end of the day, we’re here for you guys, so we’re ready to check out whatever you want from us . There is no shortage of units begging for space on the kitchen table or crazy exercise gadgets that promise to help you lose weight. Maybe you would like our opinion on what a banana slicer or a cup with a lid that keeps bathing really life hack. Maybe you just want us to try this new Kickstarter powered pressure cooker or battery pack before you invest your money in it. Come on, we accept everyone.

We think you will love what we have in the store and if you have any ideas for something that you would like to see us review or test in practice, let us know! If there are two products that you would like to compare with each other in a step-by-step comparison, please let us know.
