Ask to Attend a Team Meeting Before Accepting a Job Offer
You go to a job interview and think it’s good, but you’re not entirely sure. Before accepting a job offer, check your cultural compatibility with the company by attending one of their meetings.
This advice comes from Kimberly Kasper, Chief Marketing Officer for Highfive Technologies, in an interview with the BBC:
“Attending a staff meeting gives you insight into the team in action, the personalities and how your potential manager is managing the team,” she said in an email.
Not every candidate gets this opportunity, but Kasper says there is nothing wrong with asking to attend a staff meeting. However, in her opinion, do not contact the staff, as this may give the wrong impression that you have doubts about the work. Instead, tell your potential new manager about it.
You will see how the team works in real life, and if the employer allows you to do it, you will find out that they are probably very serious about hiring you.
