Throw More Fun Parties by Asking Guests to Invite Someone New

Whether you’re hosting a full-fledged dinner party or just having a cocktail, adding fresh facets will spice up the setting.

It is nice and trendy to hang out with your regular friends, but sometimes you want to add a little fresh blood. After all, learning about new people can be a lot of fun. This is why Food52’s Taylor Rondstvedt offers advice he found in an old book about parties from the 1960s:

Invite two good friends and ask each of them to bring in someone that no one else at the party knows. This way you will have a small group, but you will be able to meet new people!

The key point here is explicitly asking them to only bring in new people that no one has met. This is not just a plus! Everyone will be guaranteed to meet someone new, and you might even make some great new friends in the process. If you are worried that the gang will ruin your party, send this type of “bring someone” invitation only to your trusted close friends.
