Fill the Stripped Screw Holes With Leftover Chopsticks and Glue

Chopsticks are amazing tools, and not only when it comes to food . If the screw is worn out and starts to loose, you can use a chopstick so the screw hole can be used again.

Over time, the screws that secure your wood furniture can begin to wear down the wood that holds them in place. Christine Dinus of This Old House suggests that you hold the screw tight again by filling the hole with a chopstick:

Moisten a chopstick with a little glue and insert into the screw hole. Allow to dry, then break off the rest of the stem to create a new location for the screw.

If you love eating Asian takeaway food, you probably have a couple of couples. Each chopstick can be used multiple times (depending on the size of the hole), so this is a great trick to keep in mind. Any glue will work, but use wood glue for best results. If the screw hole is too small for the chopstick, you can use toothpicks .
