10 Most Expensive Countries to Visit for Tourists

Vacations are expensive and some destinations can be more expensive than others. According to the World Economic Forum’s 2015 Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report, these are the most expensive countries for tourists.

They looked at 141 countries and compared a number of factors related to tourism: hotel prices, airport taxes, ticket taxes, fuel prices, and so on.

Based on their findings, they compiled the ten most expensive countries. Below is a list of them, including how much the average foreign visitor spends on each trip. Obviously, the average spending is out of order, but keep in mind their methodology goes beyond spending and includes the actual cost of travel-related services in each country. 1. Switzerland . Average expenses: $ 1,882

2. United Kingdom . Average expenses: $ 1,316

3. France . Average expenses: $ 669.

4. Australia . Average expenses: $ 4,897

5. Norway . Average expenses: $ 1,199.

6. Israel . Average Cost: $ 1,912

7. Denmark . Average expenses: $ 811

8. Sweden . Average expenses: $ 987

9. Italy . Average expenses: $ 920

10. Austria . Average expenses: $ 810
