These DIY Frozen Treats Will Keep Your Dog Cool When It’s Hot Outside.

Frozen toys or treats are a great way to help your dog stay cool in hot weather. Make your own frozen dog treats with just three ingredients and a few minutes in the kitchen.

You will need a ripe banana, one teaspoon of unsalted peanut butter, and one cup of plain, fat-free yogurt (not sweetened or flavored). Combine the ingredients in a blender and pour into an ice cube tray. Freeze the treat for about 5 hours, then let your dog enjoy it! Let your dog cool down a couple of times during the summer and fall (when it can get hot in some parts of the country).

Keep in mind that dogs shouldn’t eat too many bananas to avoid overloading them with potassium, so don’t feed them whole at once. If you’re worried about portions, you can always skip the banana. Of course, if your dog has a sensitive digestive system or is prone to food allergies, be sure to check with your veterinarian before introducing new food.
