The Best Way to Make Any Stuffed Pancakes

Pancakes are great, but spring rolls can be even better. With a little prep work, you can make a batch of stuffed pancakes almost instantly.

Stuffed pancakes can be tricky because you’ve laid out the bottom layer of the pancake dough, quickly dumped the filling, and then added more pancake dough on top of it. The trick, according to Lauren Kodiak of The Kitchn, is to get your filling ready to go ahead of time:

All you have to do is line the baking sheet with parchment paper, spoon onto the small Nutella discs, and then freeze the discs! When you’re ready to make the pancakes, pour the dough into the skillet and then quickly place one of the discs on top of the wet dough. Cover the disc with more batter and continue as usual when making pancakes.

Kodiak is talking specifically about Nutella here, but you can actually pre-freeze discs with any fillings. Peanut butter, jam, jelly, chocolate, compote; the possibilities are endless. It’s time to take pancakes to the next level.
