Set the Default Finder Window Size on Restart
Finder windows in OS X are a little finicky. One time you open it and it will be tiny, another time it will be huge. At MacWorld, they figured out why this is happening and came up with a way to customize the default behavior.
The Finder window behavior can be a little frustrating if you want your windows to open at the same size every time. So MacWorld tried to come up with a way to achieve consistent behavior. It’s a little strange, but it seems to work:
- Open a Finder window and set the size you want.
- Close all windows (Command + Options + W and click the close button)
- While holding down the Option key, right-click the Finder icon and choose Restart.
You should now be good to continue with a consistent Finder window size.
