Caramelized onions add spice to many dishes, but they take too long to prepare quickly. Fortunately, frozen caramelized onions last for months and impart the same flavor.

It’s amazing how many dishes, from burgers and steaks to pizzas and soups, are tastier with the sweet nutty flavor that caramelized onions offer. The problem is that they can take over an hour to cook, which is too long for most weekday evening meals. So, when you have some free time, prepare a large batch and freeze them. You can freeze them in different portions using ice cube trays, muffin tins, freezer bags, or whatever.
