Delete Old IPhone ICloud Backups to Free up Space

Backing up your iPhone or iPad to iCloud is a good idea, but when you update your phones, you might end up with multiple backups, including the ones you no longer need. OS X Daily will show you how to remove them.

By default, iCloud backs up all of your iOS devices. If you set up your device as new or don’t restore from an iCloud backup, you can get multiple backups of the same data, which can take up a lot of space. Fortunately, they are easy to remove.

  1. Go to Settings> iCloud> Storage> Manage Storage.
  2. You will see all your backups, select the one you no longer need
  3. Click Delete Backup to remove it from iCloud.

You should now have a little more iCloud storage. Just make sure you have backups of all the devices you still have and use.
