Convert Scrap Tile Cladding Sheets Into Sturdy Custom Coasters

We’ve talked about the benefits (and deals) of architectural repair shops before and you can often find a pre-mesh tile backsplash there waiting for your next DIY project. If you can find one that you like, with small enough tiles, a little trimming, and you can have beautiful, sturdy coasters in minutes.

User Instructables Joekevdv explained that mentioned above was cheap tile in its local store scrap metal, but you can even buy a little cheaper at a local store Home Depot, when there is no recycling of the store. A little trim to cut the tiles to the shape you want and you’re done. Cut off the loose ends of the mesh on the back of the tile and, if you like, apply some hot glue to the bottom to secure it, or attach a felt or cork spacer and you’re done. They are easy to clean, they are as durable as the tiles on the wall, and they look great.

Of course, you may not find this particular type of tile next to you, but we bet you will find something that could be used in a similar way, or a type of small tile that you would not mind using as a coaster this way. the same way.
