NoWait Tells You the Waiting Times at Nearby Restaurants
iOS / Android: No one likes to stand and wait for a table. You are hungry and bored, and if you go elsewhere, it may take you even longer. This free app will save you a bit of that frustration by letting you know the waiting times at nearby eateries.
NoWait uses your location to indicate nearby establishments, and then simply tells you how long you can expect to wait for a table. The app asks for your phone number, but you can also skip this step and just look at the list or map of restaurants. If you provide your phone number, you can also use the multi-restaurant contact app to queue up.
Of course, in order for these restaurants to work, they must use the NoWait service. So it could be a hit or a miss, but many big chains use them: Buffalo Wild Wings, Chili’s and Friday’s to name a few. There are thousands of other chain and independent restaurants in the app directory, and they are expanding.
I was surprised at how many restaurants were included in my area, but I must note that not all restaurants near me were included. Again, this could be an accidental hit or miss, and your mileage may vary depending on your location. But with so many partners, this is a useful app.
