This DIY Wall Swivel Bracket Will Keep Your TV or Monitor Away From the Bench

Most modern workshops already have tons of tools and space is very expensive. If you want to keep a computer monitor or TV in your workshop, make this fold-out monitor arm to raise the display away from dirt and dust on your desktop.

Most DIYers use tablets and computers in their workshops to watch tutorial videos and browse the web. Now 3D printers and CNC machines are becoming more commonplace, making an already crowded workspace even cramped.

You can wall-mount your monitor to save space and place it at eye level. This swing arm is constructed from 2×4 pine planks and multiple hinges. You can assemble the mount using a drill / screwdriver, a table saw (or circular saw ), and a jigsaw . Before installing the display, make sure it is fixed to the wall. In the video above, Bob is making a custom rack mount since his monitor is not VESA compliant (although you can redesign to be VESA compliant) and he wanted to use the wood and hinges that he had readily available instead of wasting hundreds on a sophisticated monitor mount or arm.

This design is for a lightweight monitor. The video shows the Acer 24-inch display, which weighs almost 7 pounds. Anything heavier should be displayed on a steel support.
