The Best Android App Uninstaller

Installing apps on Android is easy. So easy that over time, you can end up with a ton you don’t need. Instead of tediously scrolling through each application to uninstall them one by one, we recommend Easy Uninstaller. This app allows you to uninstall multiple apps at once, sort them by size, and even delete unnecessary files.

Functions

  • Batch uninstall multiple applications at once
  • Sort apps by memory size
  • Clean up leftover junk files
  • Track app usage to identify the most and least used apps
  • Track your battery usage to determine the biggest drain on your battery
  • Set reminders to clean up storage on a regular basis or when storage is full

Where is it best

Even without any bells and whistles, Easy Uninstaller does its job well. You will be presented with a list of applications and how much space they take up on your phone. Just check the boxes next to the applications you want to uninstall and Easy Uninstaller will launch them one by one. Because of the way Android handles uninstalling apps, you still have to confirm each one individually, but the process is much faster than using the regular Settings app. Easy Uninstaller will even keep a history of the apps you uninstall if you want to find them again.

However, the additional features make it special. You can set the app to remind you on a regular basis, such as every week or month, to remove unused apps. Plus, you can get a reminder when your free storage space drops below a certain percentage of your total storage. You can also use the built-in tracker to find out which apps are draining your battery or which apps you use often enough to leave them.

Where it fails

Battery and usage trackers are convenient, but can drain the battery on their own. While this can be useful at times, chances are you already know which apps you use regularly. Android also has its own battery tracker, so this feature is a bit overkill. It also cannot uninstall or disable any system-level apps that are pre-installed on your device. You can turn them off through the Settings app, but this is a common problem.

Competition

While Easy Uninstaller is more than useful for non-root users if you are a root user, Titanium Backup comes in handy if you have root access . In addition to the regular backup functions , it can also uninstall system-level applications if you want to get rid of junk mail or malware.

Aside from rooted apps, much of the competition around app uninstallers has less to do with improving batch uninstallation than with which app has the least junk. For example, Easy Uninstaller advertises a “virus scanner” that you probably don’t need , although other advanced features still make it our top pick. On the other hand, the Uninstaller can also perform batch uninstallation of applications without any additional frills, and also does not contain any additional features or “suggestions”. System App Remover can also uninstall system apps, although if you’re using Titanium Backup it’s a bit overkill.
