Nekoze for Mac Uses an Adorable Cat to Improve Your Posture

OS X: Chances are you could improve your posture a bit while you work, and Nekoze is a fun little app to help you with that. Nekoze takes the form of a cat that follows your posture as you sit at your desk. If you slouch too much, the cat will display a warning on the screen asking you to sit up straight.

Nekoze uses your Mac’s camera to spy on you, so you’ll have to live with that when installing. Once you’ve set it up, you’ll calibrate your “base” pose with the camera, and from there, Nekose will quietly move to your menu bar. The cat icon will change from time to time – don’t think changing your face means you need to change your posture – but if you start slouching or leaning forward, you’ll get a sound (which can be turned off) and a visual reminder. sit up straight while working.

You can disable the app at any time (which you can do if you are reading, eating, or doing something that requires you to lean forward), and if you find that the app is too aggressive, you can type it back. in the settings to find your sweet spot. The app is free, requires OS X 10.7 or later, and is now available on the Mac App Store.
