Block Excessive Notifications From Any App in Lollipop With a Long Press

Android: If you’re inundated with unnecessary notifications, Android Lollipop has a built-in shortcut to reduce this spam.

Recently installed apps love to turn on notifications by default, but Lollipop has a useful fix: When you get a notification from an annoying app, press and hold the notification. Press the “i” button that appears and you will be taken to a screen where you can block all notifications from this app at the OS level – ideal if the app’s own notification settings are less than reliable.

This might not be news to longtime Lollipop users, but for those of us just now getting the update (shout out to my Moto X users), it was a nice hidden little feature.
