Stop Wasting One-on-One Meetings Due to Unnecessary Project Updates

If you are in regular one-on-one conversations with a supervisor (or if you are a manager), it can be easy by default to communicate boring status updates to your projects. Save time and bring up topics that will further your career.

Keep general updates for emails and group talks . Instead, use this one-on-one time to cover key topics such as how you want your career to develop, the skills or opportunities you are interested in developing, and the obstacles you are grappling with. Of course, not everyone has a great manager who is willing to talk about these things, but it’s worth touching on these topics to make sure you’re successful.
