Take Short Breaks to Relieve Focus.

If you watch the screen all day, you may fall into a trance that makes it difficult for you to concentrate. If you find yourself getting distracted, try taking a short break. Look away from the screen for about a minute to focus again.

As Business Blog Inc. points out, taking a moment’s attention away from the screen can give your brain a kind of “soft reset.” You bring yourself out of the on-screen trance and when you return, you can make a more informed decision about what you are going to do next. Inc. points to an Australian study that shows observing a green landscape for 40 seconds can help subjects concentrate. While a single study does not necessarily support this rule, a momentary glance from the screen can at least help break the hypnotic gaze on the screen.
