Google Hangouts for Windows, OS X and Linux Has Been Updated With a New Look
Windows / Mac / Linux: Google has updated the Hangouts app for Chrome today with a whole new look that makes it more compelling to use. The new app is very similar to the Android and iOS versions of Hangouts.
The big change here is the new look. The app now has Material Design from Google and a default chat layout with your recent contacts on the left and a chat window on the right. Otherwise, everything works exactly as you’d expect from Hangouts. The app works right out of the box on OS X, but Windows and Linux users will want to disable transparent mode.
