Google Tone Shares Links With Everyone in Earshot

Chrome: Sharing links over the Internet is easy. Sharing in person is still surprisingly difficult. Google Tone aims to make it easier to pass the link around the meeting table by emitting beep code that your browser can hear and interpret. This means that anyone within earshot can get the link.

In fact, this is not the first time we have seen something like this. Chirp for Android and iOS works in a similar way. In both cases, services allow you to share a link with audio, which is handy when introducing an audience or sharing a link in a meeting. Google Tone is designed with the needs of the browser in mind, so it’s more likely to be useful when your audience uses their laptops, not just their phones.
