Most Popular Small Form Factor PC: Intel NUC
If you’re looking for a tiny PC that you can take with you wherever you go and do whatever you want, that can be updated and customized, the small form factor model is your best bet. Last week, we asked you to list your favorites , and then reviewed the top five small form factor PCs . It’s time to crown your pet.
Permanently flexible, hackable and updatable, the Intel NUC ranked first in our poll with over 34% of the vote. Being able to choose your preferred processor, case size, graphics, and other components, while still retaining the freedom to upgrade RAM, storage, and other components, has been a winning combination for many of you.
Second place with just over 21% of the vote went to the powerful, game-focused Alienware Alpha with its HDMI pass-through and customizable overlay designed to bring PC games into the living room – or wherever you want to play them. The Gigabyte BRIX , another series of upgradeable and customizable small PCs (some of which are purely for gaming), garnered over 18% of the vote and came in third. The affordable and surprisingly powerful HP Stream Mini finished fourth with 15% of the votes cast, while the ASUS Chromebox received just under 11% of the total.
