Quickly Test Coin-Cell Batteries With DIY Battery Tweezers

Some batteries can be tested simply by dropping them , but coin cells are much more difficult. This pair of homemade battery tweezers can test the polarity and charge of a coin-cell battery by simply holding it.

Trying to pinch a coin cell battery between the voltmeter probes can be a big hassle, but this assembly fromSean Michael Ragan of Make can test them much faster. All you have to do is pinch the batteries with the tips of the tweezers and the indicator light will tell you if there is any juice in the battery and also tell you which side is the positive side of the cell. The entire assembly process will take you no more than a day, and once they are ready, they make a great addition to your toolbox.
