VLC for Android Adds Background Video Playback
Android: VLC is slowly but surely working to become as famous for its Android app as the desktop version . Another step in this direction is the background video playback on Android.
The Android app now allows you to keep listening to the videos you are playing even when you exit the app. However, this feature is not enabled by default. To enable it, update VLC to the latest version and follow these steps:
- On the slide-out sidebar, click Settings.
- Tap Interface.
- Turn on “Play video in background”.
Now, when you exit the app while a video is playing, you get some controls in the notification shade and keep listening to the video you just watched.
