Every Fifth Workout Will Suck, so Don’t Let It Get to You.

Everyone knows what bad training is. It seems like your appendages are about to fall off. Even the pink dumbbells resemble Atlas stones. Renowned strength coach and author Dan John explains that this is normal – in fact, you should expect it to happen quite often.

Poor training is completely normal, and if you expect it, it won’t be so exhausting. Dan explains:

In a group of five workouts, I usually get one great workout: the kind of workout that makes me think that in just a few weeks I could become an Olympic champion and Mr. Olympia. Then I have one training session that is so terrible that the very fact that I continue to exist as a somewhat higher form of life is a miracle. Then, the other three workouts are workouts according to the “beating the clock” principle: I come, train and leave. Most people experience this.

The worst thing you can do is over-analyze your workout. Anything can be to blame: from lack of sleep and stress to mere coincidence. Don’t let one bad workout shape your future workout. Follow the link below to learn more on how to deal with this bad day.
