Overcome Fear Gradually by Making It a Daily Habit.

We all have fears that get in our way in life. Not necessarily fears like spiders or heights, but things like speaking for yourself , practicing skills, or being able to let someone else take care. To get rid of these fears, become a habit.

As productivity author Seth Godin points out, fear gradually fades over time as we are constantly confronted with what we worry about. By making it a goal to confront your fear in small amounts every day, you will eventually get yourself vaccinated. So when you need to face your fear seriously, your immune response will be strong:

If you are afraid to write, write a little every day. Start with an anonymous blog, start with a proposal. Every day drip, drip, drip, habit. If you are afraid to speak, speak a little every day. Not to the board of directors, but to someone else. A little bit every day. Habits are stronger than fears.

You can always start small. You probably won’t be able to overcome your fear of marriage every day (it can get expensive), but you can practice adherence in small ways. Overcoming your fear of public speaking is as easy as gradually practicing speaking in small groups until you feel comfortable with your own voice.
