Most Popular E-Book Reader: Amazon Kindle Paperwhite
Which e-book provides the best reading, access to books, and cheapness is not an easy question. Last week we asked you to list your favorites and then looked at the top five ebook readers . And now we’re back to count the votes and name your favorite.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the winning e-book was the Kindle, but it wasn’t Amazon’s shiny new model – it was the Kindle Paperwhite , which got over 55% of the vote and took first place by a wide margin. Its $ 100 price tag and inexpensive feature set have earned high praise in nominations and voting rounds.
Second place and 20% of the vote went to another Kindle in the survey, the Kindle Voyage , Amazon’s new flagship model with a higher-resolution screen and adaptive lighting. Much of the discussion around this versus the Paperwhite has come down to the $ 100 price premium of the Voyage versus the Paperwhite and whether the perks that come with the Voyage were worth the extra money. Third place with almost 11% of the votes went to the popular hack Nook Simple Touch , one of our favorite e-books for rooting and customizing Android, so you get the best of Android tablet and e-reader in one package. Fourth place and over 7% of the votes went to Kobo Aura HD , a beautiful, customizable e-book backed by Kobo’s huge library of books . it will be released in early May, according to the characteristics it will be able to compete with the Kindle Voyage.
