FoodKeeper Notifies You When Food Is Truly Past Its Expiry Date and Sends You Reminders

iOS / Android: By now, you probably know that most food expiration dates are bullshit. They are more about marketing than how long it actually takes for food to die. The USDA makes it very easy to know the true expiration dates of foods.

They recently released the FoodKeeper app. We told you about similar web applications EatByDate and StillTasty . Both are great for tracking the true expiration dates of a range of products. But most of their information comes from the USDA anyway. In addition, FoodKeeper will also send you reminders when something goes wrong.

You can check the expiration date of foods depending on how they are stored, and the app will also provide you with general cooking information. You can search for an item directly or browse by category.
