If you need to do a lot of network testing, the Raspberry Pi is a great and cheap way to do it. NetPi is a customizable operating system that includes all the tools you need.
NetPi comes with CDP / LLDP, DIA diagramming software, ping / trace / speed testing tools, penetration testing tools and more. Obviously, this is not the use case most of us need all the time, but it’s convenient to keep an SD card with NetPi installed in case you need it.
