Make Your Own Sheets From Fabric Scraps

Drying sheets will keep your laundry fresh and fluffy. And this is quite simple to do. All you need is a couple of ingredients and a piece of cloth that you probably already have.

San Francisco Gate’s home guide has a pretty simple DIY towel recipe. You will need a container – such as a box for baby wipes – and some fabric, such as an old shirt or towel. Cut the fabric into sheets and place them in a container. From there, all you need is some vinegar and some kind of essential oil:

Pour 1/2 cup white vinegar into a large glass bowl; Its natural deodorizing properties freshen up dirt, fights static electricity and preserves the intensity of the garment’s pigments. Then add 6 to 8 drops of grapefruit seed oil or tea tree oil to the vinegar; any essential oil will work synergistically with vinegar, killing bacteria and germs found in the wash, and giving the garment a light yet pleasant scent. Pour the well-mixed mixture directly onto the folded sheets of fabric, making sure they are soaked evenly.

Simple enough, and it’s also sustainable as you can easily wash and reuse the sheets. To view the entire publication, click on the link below.
