Make Two-Flavor Frozen Muffins at Home

Even if you’re not a master baker, you can easily make eye-catching and delicious two-color icing cupcakes. All you need is the right technique.

This style of cupcakes is perfect for special occasions like parties, birthdays, and weddings. Making your own fancy cupcakes is a great way to save some money on event planning and not lose the atmosphere. If you can’t watch the video above for exact instructions, here’s what you need to do to get the swirling frosting effect:

  1. Prepare the icing in two colors (or flavors).
  2. Spread a large piece of plastic wrap on a flat surface.
  3. Spoon the first glaze color onto rectangular plastic wrap. Do the same with the second glaze color.
  4. Take the plastic wrap from the side closest to you and fold it so that at that moment the two colors overlap.
  5. Place the sealed frosting, edge first, in a piping bag, if you have one. You can get the same effect by rolling up a piece of parchment paper or cutting off the corner of a plastic bag.
  6. Cut the plastic wrap around the edge of your icing log. Then refrigerate the whole thing for 15-20 minutes to harden.

With the icing on, you can make the cupcakes even more extravagant by adding sprinkles, sugar lettering, and other eatable decorations.
