Food Explorer by BodBot Recommends Foods That Suit Your Diet

Figuring out what’s in your diet can sometimes feel like playing Tetris. This great web app allows you to explore different foods by different parameters, such as calories or carbohydrates.

We’re big fans of flexible diets as opposed to rigid programs that describe food as “healthy” or “unhealthy.” A flexible diet means there are no “bad” foods and it all depends on the context.

That being said, one of the pitfalls of a flexible diet is that since food is not taboo, it’s easy to feel paralyzed when you decide what to eat. Fortunately, the creators of the BodBot fitness app we mentioned earlier have created a food explorer web app that allows you to identify foods by nutritional composition. Let’s say after a workout I know I need a meal that is medium protein, high in carbohydrates, and low in fat. I can play with the Food Explorer sliders to determine which foods fit this pattern. For example, fried chicken and potatoes are recommended in this case, which are ideal.

In addition, there are diagrams showing the distribution of macronutrients (carbohydrates, fats, proteins) and micronutrients (vitamins, minerals, etc.) for each food item. Check out the tool using the link below. It’s pretty cool.
