Quickly Search Only Chrome Bookmarks or History With Custom Search
Chrome: Omnibar in Chrome is useful for finding your bookmarks, history, and internet at the same time. If you just need to search for bookmarks or history, you can do so with a custom search.
Custom searches are nothing new . However, as Addictive Tips points out, you can create triggers to search only on Chrome history or on bookmark pages with a single URL. To do this, open Settings in Chrome and click Manage Search Engines. From there, enter the name of the search and the keyword you want to use to launch it and enter one of the following two URLs:
To search history, enter:
chrome://history/?#q=%s
To search in bookmarks, enter:
chrome://bookmarks/?#q=%s
And it’s all! Now, when you use these keywords, you will automatically be taken to either the bookmarks page or the history page with the search terms already entered. Much more convenient than trying to type the desired text until it appears in the Omnibar.
