Drivers Pay an Average of $ 368 on Car Insurance Annually

Commercials “You can save 15 percent or more on car insurance” may underestimate the savings. NerdWallet conducted a survey and found that drivers could save an average of 32% on their insurance if they just made purchases – that’s a savings of $ 368 per year.

A financial comparison site looked at auto insurance rates for 1,000 zip codes in the United States and found that prices for a given zip code varied by an average of 154% (for a hypothetical 40-year-old married man who drives and has clean driving information). …

If you don’t shop, or at least don’t call your ISP (possibly with these scripts ) to see if your rate might be lower, chances are good that you are overpaying.

A faster way to compare, however, is NerdWallet’s own auto insurance comparison tool. Unlike many similar tools, this one does not ask you for any personal information in order to provide you with an estimate (although you still need to contact the insurers directly for a more accurate quote).

Either way, shopping every year can really save you a lot of money.
